I disagree with the road sign message in this photo. It is suggesting that one must choose success OR failure. My belief, and many others share this belief, is that success AND failure are on the same street! You will very rarely have a 100% success rate, so overcoming failure to find success is a critical step in the process.
I realize this can be easier said than done, but here are four essential steps to overcoming your failure to find success:
1. Accept that failure is part of the process. Nothing about failure is fun and one should not want it, but looking at failure as a way to learn, grow, and evolve from your experience is critical.
2. Let out your frustration. Give yourself time to get it out of your head and then refocus on your process/plan.
3. Be brutally honest. Self-reflection is a very important step in the process to overcome failure. Many people experience failure and run from it, thus quitting on their goal. They do this because they struggle with the self-reflection aspect.
4. Fail forward. No matter how long it takes, stay the course and keep pushing forward. We cannot stop obstacles from appearing in life, but we can choose how to handle them.
If you can apply these four steps to your goal, you are on a pathway to success. These strategies are a choice; make the right one!
