Arguably one of the most successful coaches in Collegiate history, Pat Summit, accrued a record of 1,098–208 (.841) with the University of Tennessee, including eight National Championships.
Is a coach who is this successful really good at X’s and O’s, recruiting the best players, and/or building the best staff? I believe it is a little of all three. BUT, more importantly, a great coach builds a team atmosphere and a winning culture with in each of their players.
None of these “Definite Dozen” requires talent, but instead a commitment to each one. These are not only regulated to sports alone, but can be applied to any profession/team.
