Happy #MotivationalMonday (7/29/19)
Sorry for missing last week, I was on my family vacation. A couple of weeks ago I quoted from a book I am reading with my sons, “Old School Grit.” Over the next several weeks, I will be pulling my Motivational Monday’s from chapters out of this book. The book is written by Darrin Donnelly and breaks down 15 rules to having Grit. Donnelly does it through a fable about an aging collegiate basketball coach who has a limited time to live because he has cancer. He decides to write his grandchildren a letter explaining how they, too, can have Grit like his generation did by adopting these rules in their daily lives.
Rule #2: You will only achieve whatyou believe you can achieve.
As simple as it sounds, it is 100% true. Think about all of the successful people you know or follow. How many of them struggle to believe in their abilities? Yes, at times, they may have some self-doubt, but they overcome that within their process of success. This process is their work ethic and belief. Donnelly believes that, “the best believe they’re the best before they actually prove they’re the best. Your results follow your beliefs; it’s not the other way around.”
Do you truly believe in yourself and your process? If you do not, you are making it almost impossible to accomplish your goals/dreams.
