Reputation is important because it represents how you are perceived by others. However, if your reputation is not a true representation of your CHARACTER, then reputation means nothing. Some people have great reputations, but their character, or how they handle themselves when no one is looking, may not be so great. On the flip side, someone with great character can have their good reputation destroyed with one false accusation or rumor.
It is important to remember to not get too caught up in the reputation of others, but instead take time to learn the true character of others, not just the surface hear-say.
