Happy #MotivationalMonday (5/20/19)
To honor is to regard with great respect.
To have virtue is to show behavior having high moral standards.
While attending church this past Mother’s Day, the pastor did a message on Honor. It really got me thinking about decisions I have made both positive and negative in my life regarding honor. As I have said before in previous posts, my mother committed suicide on November 7, 2007. To make matters worse for me personally, the last time I spoke with her was on July 4, 2007, when I told her to get out of my life and never speak to me again. I was set to call her and patch things up on November 7, but I was too late; instead I got a call informing me of her death.
My mother and I obviously had our issues, but I had lost value of her worth, and so did she. This was a very hard thing for me to overcome because of my decision, her decision, and the finality of the situation. It wore on me emotionally, and at times, still does. I try to pride myself on making good decisions and honoring those I love, but I am human and make mistakes. We ALL make mistakes. This is one of my setbacks, but I believe more in the COMEBACKS. You are reading this right now because I took that pain, and other pains in my life, and created the AaronStrong Foundation as a way to comeback from the setback and honor my mother, Aaron, and my father, all who are no longer with us.
Who or what are you honoring in your life? Sometimes you make big mistakes, but you can overcome. Is it easy? NO! However, it is something that you can choose to do. Why not start honoring someone or something today?!
