Today’s motivational Monday reflects on news we received this past week about a close family friend. Bailey Trinder was driving home from football practice last Thursday when he was involved in a horrific car accident. In an instant, he went from an avid high school student-athlete, with aspirations of playing sports in college, to a young man fighting to survive. With tremendous injuries, most likely to include paralysis, the road to recovery will be long and hard. We all face various types of adversity in life; however, Bailey’s adversity is something most of us will never have to endure.
Adversities can be so difficult, and most times seem so unfair. Our instinct is to go into survival mode. When this happens, you deny yourself the potential for a purpose driven life. Instead of having the “just survive” mindset, look to have the will to THRIVE! Why do I think Bailey will THRIVE, given his situation? I believe he will do so for the following reasons: his faith, his incredible support system, his hard work ethic, his positive mindset, and his determination to never give up!
Use your strengths in your situation, no matter what it may be, to give purpose to your life. YOU are here for a reason and can still make a difference, no matter the circumstance.
Please pray for Bailey, and his family, as he faces surgery and a long road to recovery. #BTStrong
