Happy #MotivationalMonday (2/11/19) #Perspective

How many times have you, or someone you know, said “I can’t”? We are all guilty of it!

A lot of times this fixed (I can’t) mindset comes after a period of adversity. It could be adversity that we created ourself or life’s adversity thrusted upon us. Either way, it is how you perceive these tough moments in life that keep you moving toward your goals or away from them.

Ultrarunner, David Horton, believes in two mantras when things go bad for him:

  1. This...

Happy #MotivationalMonday (11/19/18) #Blessings

Last week, we reflected on the fact that there is always something to be thankful for. Many times, our gratefulness is for people we know in our lives or things we possess. But, sometimes, things are working in our favor that we aren’t even aware of. Those silent blessings are also areas to be thankful for. Sometimes, it may be years before we realize the significance of how we are blessed by little things, or even big things, we may not know are being orch...

Happy #MotivationalMonday I wrote this as part of a healing process a year after my mother tragically passed away! The AaronStrong seed was planted after writing this! Life isn’t always fair, how you deal with it, defines who you are! Today, I am starting my 4th annual Grit class for middle and high school students. 😁 #Grit #MondayMotivation #AaronStrongFoundation #Mom

Dear Family and Friends,

As many of you know my mother passed away unexpectedly last year on this date. It was the worst d...

Happy #MotivationalMonday (11/12/18) #Thankful

With Thanksgiving Day just around the corner, November is usually a time when we reflect on the things we are so thankful for. As we begin to reflect on this year, many around us have experienced joys, blessings, and triumph. Others have had to face tragedy, loss, and sadness. No matter what path you have been down, good or bad, remember there are always positive things around you. Focus on your blessings, especially when the road you are traveling...

Happy #MotivationalMonday (8/6/18) #Character

I was listening to the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame speeches last week, and while Trevor Hoffman was giving his speech, he quoted this line from John Wooden. This is one of many great quotes from Coach Wooden and he hits the nail on the head. So many of us are worried about our reputation, but we should be more concerned about our CHARACTER.

In a life of social media, many people just try to impress people by building a certain reputation, but is you...

Happy #MotivationalMonday (7/30/18) #OvercomingFailure

I am currently reading “Relentless Optimism,” by Darrin Donnelly, with my sons.  It is a fable about an aging minor leaguer trying to make it to the Major Leagues.  He feels he is running out of time until he meets a new minor league manager who gives him a new perspective on life.

This manager preaches that failure is a L.I.E. It is Limited, Isolated, and External.  Now, there is no doubt I love baseball and instantly fell in love with thi...

Happy #MotivationalMonday (4/9/18) #Process

Trust the Process!  This is something you have probably heard before, but quickly dismissed because we live in a world where results are so heavily stressed.  I am not here to tell you results are not important, but if you are not dedicated to the process, it is unlikely you will get the results you desire.

Over the last ten or so years I have really searched for “why” people are successful.  What I have noticed is the successful ones have an end goal they...

Happy #MotivationalMonday (2/5/18) #Courage

When I think of a Lion, I always think of leadership.  They are the “King” of their domain.  Most people recognize that they have a lot of courage and tenacity, which gives them the title of being leaders of the animal kingdom. They are at the top, which is where we want to be with in our own lifestyle; however, that is easier said than done in many cases!

Lions, like us, are not born with COURAGE.  It is something they work on EVERYDAY!  Stop looking at w...

#Opportunity

A few people have asked me what my hashtag #KOTO is at the bottom of my messages.  I find it very fitting to discuss this on Monday, January 1st, because KOTO is something I came up with to stop staying “good luck.”  It means “Knock Out The Opportunity.”

With OPPORTUNITIES come the possibility of making mistakes and there is nothing wrong with that. It means you are living out your goals and not relying on luck for success to come your way.

In this N...

Happy #MotivationalMonday (11/13/17) #WorkEthic

As many of you know by now, former Major Leaguer, Roy Halladay, passed away this past week in a plane crash.  First off, our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and teammates.  I spent the first part of my adult life watching Halladay dominate on the mound. He was consistently picking a part an opposing team’s lineup and doing it with an amazing competitor’s spirit. It really was remarkable to watch!

When he passed away, I found myse...
